It is important for me to have a strong affinity for a subject matter. I have found from experience if my heart isn’t in it, my finished painting won’t turn out well. That said, before I accept a request I will need to see the subject, and listen to your ideas prior to accepting the task. I can and will work from photographs, using my creative judgement. Below is some of the information I will need.

The following is a part of a contract I use for a commission.

Terms: 50% will be collected before beginning the work. I will provide preliminary sketches for approval. Provide progress reports, and or photographs during creation of my work.We will agree on deadlines.I retain the copyright of work and the rights to produce work in all forms, to include Exhibit, portfolios, and image’s on my website. As well, if agreed upon in contract to sell copies of limited edition's. I retain the right to put my name, and the date of completion on work.  Final payment is due upon final approval.

the quest

I was asked by a client to create a painting from a photograph that was partially destroyed by water in a house fire. It was a painstaking process and certainly was a challenge. I searched the internet for historical images that looked close to the objects in the photograph. I then painted my own interpretations of the objects in the photograph.

This is a painting I did for a client to give as a wedding gift. The wine labels where customized with the names of the bride and groom. I painted the wedding date onto the cork. If you would like to commission a wedding gift please contact me for an estimate.
